OCC "A" v SHIPLAKE

Last week had City watching from the sidelines, anxiously waiting for the evening to unfold. Headington A's juggernaut rolled on with a 6-0 whitewash win at basement boys Bicester.

Banbury Central crashed 5-1 at home to Carterton.

But a result the City didn't want to see was West Witney springing  a surprise with a 4-2 win at Shiplake which saw them creep above City in the table, all be it having played one game more. See Table

City welcomed Shiplake to the green tonight looking to exact revenge, for their shock defeat at Shiplake earlier in the season.

And did they just, with an empathic 107 - 51 drubbing. Mike Petersen & Chris Earls rinks produced terrific performances (35-14) & (33-11) respectively and with Alen Ley's four winning by 12 shots, all eyes were on stand in skip Chris Lewis who was drawn against one of Shiplakes experienced skips Jim Bland, this game went right down to the wire 16-16 going into the last end, Chris picking up the vital shot to win 17-16 allowing City to come away with all six valuable points from this encounter.
