PRESIDENTS PRATTLE - SEPTEMBER 2016

Congratulations Donna.

It gives me great pleasure to report that Donna Knight has won The National Championship Ladies Singles title, at Leamington.

This is the first time ever, that Oxfordshire has had this honour. It is a marvellous achievement so well done Donna.

Our Ladies Fours did us proud too, tied at twenty-one ends, holding shot, until the very last wood somehow got through the pack and took the end.  Such a shame to lose like that.  Disappointing, but ladies you all did well to get there.

President's day was a very happy day, and I must thank everyone for taking part and making it so successful. I received some lovely flowers, gifts, and cards. To all of you, who helped organise it, thanks once again.

We have one more Touring team, to come to us on September 7th, so please try and support the club, as you have done all season.

Club Finals weekend is on September 10-11th, so I wish every-one involved, the very best of luck.

Maggie's Charity Social Night is the September 16th,"The Crimps," are the group playing, and tickets are available from Jenny, Jane Walker, and Geoff Powell.

Please make a note that Macmillan Coffee morning will be held at the club on Sept.26 at 10am.If you can attend, please bring a cake ,and a raffle prize, as it is for a good cause.

Changing a Light Bulb.

An elderly man with one arm bumped into an old friend.

"Where are you off to?" asked the friend.

"To change a light bulb," replied the one-armed man.

"That will be a bit difficult for you, won't it?"

"Not really, "said the one-armed man. "I kept the receipt."
